I end up watching TV a lot, and it usually ends up being Cops or CSI, if just because it seems to be playing 24/7 and I can't stand home makeover stuff. Better people than me have noticed it, but it really enshrines law enforcement, right or wrong. The perp is always a scumbag, the officers are always right and justified, and the vignettes are self contained. Viewing things in black and white usually ends up with severe problems. I'm waiting for the CSI where one of them blows their brains out for destroying some dealer's associates life needlessly, or a COPS where they let some pot smoker go because there's no real point in stuffing a peaceful drug user into an overloaded prison system.
Probably be pretty shitty television though. Hard to film with that rattly camera.

Bleeding in my Head
I wonder who that brave pioneer was that looked at his unladen F-350 and thought, you know what this needs? A pair of big rubber balls hanging off the hitch. What the fuck possessed them? You can buy them wrinkly or camoflauged too? Can I get a pair of overies to put on a Civc, all dangling from the radial or some such shit? Is their package so small that their replacement mechanical cock is in need of nuts too?
At least it lets me know I can safely ignore any statement made by the owner. Or follow the truck to a bar that serves nothing but shitty beer and weekly gay stompings. For some reason. It's like an armband for white trash instead of Jews, Roma, and Jehovah's Witnesses.

Years of Reaping
Things have gotten out of hand, but in their own way, have just gone back to what it was. The 20th century was one of optimism that the advances of humanity would finally put us on a path to utopia, or something close. Now though, it has become clear that these technologies have been co-opted, perverted, or else funneled towards more destruictive uses. Food riots are beginning again, serfdom becoming more prelavent. We even have a new plague, new church systems springing forward. We're going into some sort of wonky Middle Ages.
I suppose the pace of advancement was unsustainable, but it does hurt to watch the world turn back. I suppose with this many people here, and so many overconsuming, it was unavoidable to creep back to a sort of feudalism.
The Renaissance began after the Black Plague killed half of Europe. The Arabic states went into decline after they could be avoided through marine routes. Looks like this epoch, whatever it's called and whereever it exists, is doomed by corn, dead lizards, and fools with big mouths.
How ignoble.

Nostalgia at $300/tonne
Came home for a while. Parental Unit's decided to capitilize on scrap prices and sell off the old pieces of equipment while muttering about the Chinese. Honestly, better they be cheap rebar on the other side of the planet then just rust into the ground. Happens too often here: people buy farm equipment to either repair of for a very specialized use, then let it rust into nothing and sell it again to repeat the cycle or let the forest eat it. Tiresome, these eternal vehicle graveyards.
Getting sun too, which is problematic. I like being vitamin D deficient and nocturnal. Also have to deal with children with ATVs, who need to be shot a few times for unrelated reasons. I just wish that if they we're going to be drug dealers, they'd be friendly drug dealers, ones who don't grow pot with birth control pills. I'm not smoking that shit, I've got big enough tits as is.
Apple butter sure as shit isn't butter. It makes a terrible lubricant.

Saw a movie last night.
El Topo was weird. That said, 70s chicks we're definitely hotter. Too much peroxide around today. It's all going to end in tapeworms you know.
That said, that was one hot dwarf, I can totally see why the killer buddha liked her.

Tonic
Holy shit, sunlight. Hard to believe after so long. The essential failures don't bother me so much right now, though 8 months of emerging garbage does.
Need to get a spittoon for the front door, the amount of butts outside is nutty and I'm tired of being able to read my roommate's personality off of them. Then again, the same goes for all the socks out there.
Bit too much wind and construction, but that'll pass.
Still amazed by the lack of sight present in the general public. It's like they don't want to look.

The problem with communications
Over a long enough distance, traditional communication becomes too slow or fragmented to be of much use. This is even more so if the medium is different then normal, like water or a vacuum. This will be the issue as we expand beyond the traditional borders: we'll get far enough away that we'll lose contact, and slowly stop understanding or hearing.
How can I react to something I can't hear?

Drinkathon
The nice thing about mental pills is they lower alcohol tolerance. Which means I'm a cheap drunk. The irritating thing is that it also means I'm still fairly co-ordinated, which means I should just learn to not only keep my shirt on, but also stay away from the webcam.
If I had a car, I could probably get gas money from all the damn empties around the neighbourhood. Damn college students, just throwing their nickels on the damn ground. Bastards.
Energy drinks are training future generations to eat meth and stay up 20 hours in a row so they're productive little cogs. Fuck that, we need a goofball substitute for kids.

Big Ol' Hammer
I suppose development would arrest the moment it took less energy to remain small and narrow than to continue growth. In this way, many are stuck at a level of maturity and mental cognizance best described as a 6 year old with a libido. Why is becoming an intelligent human being so unworthwhile to so many people? Or are they what the environment favours? I suppose suburban living doesn't require a lot of intelligence, but then, what does?
there are many forms of bliss more satisfying than ignorance
Someday we will all be alone. how many will be able to deal with it?
Can a machine without purpose still find a reason to be?
